Digital citizenship--ethics and laws. The student recognizes and practices responsible, legal, and ethical behavior while using digital tools and resources.
Demonstrated Proficiency
Perform a quick check in a small group or one-on-one instruction.
Present examples of digital content with some background information about the content owner. Ask each student who owns the content and why it is important to respect the owner who created the digital content.
Examples:
- I created this video. It is my video. Who owns this content?
- Our principal created this online picture. It is his/her picture. Who owns this picture?
- A student in our class, <insert the name of the student>, created this story online. Who owns this story?
- Is it nice and respectful if I use <name of student>'s story and say it is my story? Explain your answer.
- How can I be respectful if I want to use <name of student>'s story?
- I found this picture online. I did not know who owns this picture. Can I use this picture if I do not know who owns it?
