Knowledge and Skills Statement

Composition: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and thinking using multiple texts--writing process. The student uses the writing process recursively to compose multiple texts that are legible and uses appropriate conventions.

Task students with considering their audience as they select a format in which to share a final piece of writing. You may consider pairing your students with those from an elementary classroom. Each student in this mixed-grade-level pairing can then read their published pieces to each other.
