Knowledge and Skills Statement
Use the following rubric to monitor students’ progress in generating ideas and planning first drafts.
Sample rubric:
- The student is unable to plan a first draft by generating on-task ideas even with adult assistance.
- The student is able to plan a first draft by generating on-task ideas by drawing OR brainstorming with adult assistance.
- The student is able to plan a first draft by generating on-task ideas by drawing OR brainstorming independently.
- The student is able to plan a first draft by generating on-task ideas by drawing AND brainstorming independently.
