Organisms and environments. The student understands that ecosystem are dependent upon the cycling of matter and the flow of energy.

Glossary terms and definitions are consistent across kindergarten through high school in the TEKS Guide. The definitions are intended to give educators a common understanding of the terms regardless of what grade level they teach. Glossary definitions are not intended for use with students.

Summary: "Eating up the World’s Food Web and the Human Trophic Level" provides educators with knowledge of trophic energy levels, the transfer of energy between them, and sample producers and consumers found in the various levels based on diet through research on trophic levels for humans.
