Introduction
The Quick Start Guide is designed to guide content developers in how to get started creating resources in Texas Gateway that are optimally sized for course scope and sequence, reuse, readability, and navigation. The guide provides steps for developers in two scenarios:
- migrating existing courses from other platforms into Texas Gateway
- creating new courses in Texas Gateway
For either scenario, you can use the Quick Start Guide to plan how to use the Texas Gateway content types and tools to structure your content. If you are migrating an existing course, the guide gives an overview of how to map your content to Resources and sections.
If you're starting out developing content for a course in Gateway Courses—or for lessons or activities that can be assigned to students as Resources or Binders—the Quick Start Guide will help you plan your content's structure and sequence.
The Quick Start Guide also lists tools that are available to add media to your content to make it come alive and engage your audience.
Refer to the Quick Start Chart in the middle section of this resource or download a PDF as a handy reference. The accordion-style Quick Start Guide activity in the last section of this resource will help you walk through the recommended steps.
Start your course migration or creation with the The Quick Start Guide, for an overview of strategy and process for delivering Texas Gateway content that is modular, engaging, easy to navigate, and ideal for use by multiple audiences.
